Monsters and Mythical Beings – Air Dry Clay Workshop, Friday 8th Jan, 10am-12pm, 7-12yrs
Miss Michaela’s expressive art workshops have been such a hit, we’re taking them 3D and turning them into imagination workshops! Students will create a monster, or mythical creature from their imagination, using props such as glass monster eyes, feathers, matchsticks and beads. Miss Michaela will talk them through letting go of expectation of outcome and they will experiment with using the flow of the project to decide the next step, and practice letting go of “making mistakes” and “not getting it right”.
The practice of encouraging children to let go of outcome, to experiment and create for the joy of it, and concentrate on process rather than end goals is well known to reduce anxiety, improve relaxation and increase analytical problem solving skills.
