Our Gold Coast art classes are designed to allow your mini-artist the opportunity to explore a broad range of media and techniques throughout each term. Children will have fun exploring the power of their own imagination and discovering how to put their own twist on some practical art techniques, while learning how art can be used as a tool for calming, focus and self expression.

Artlis Manifesto

We paint with our hearts, instead of our minds.
Our art shows our soul instead of just lines.
We create without burden of judgment or fear,
And encourage our friends to be themselves here.
The aim of our painting is not to be praised,
or to gain special marks like “Distinctions” or “A’s”.
We create to have confidence in mind, self and heart.
We create for ourselves, so we know who we are.

At Artlis Studios our teachers believe that having a healthy creative outlet can help with confidence, resilience and self awareness which in turn leads to safe decision making and increased motivation and strength for achieving goals.  We make it our mission to help your mini-artist find their creative confidence.

I want to tell you that you do such an amazing job with the children you teach and your classes, we are grateful to have you in our lives, the girls love you so much…thank you!

~ Rachael Moses

Honestly this class is the highlight of my little artist week!
If your looking for a fun activity where your children can be as creative as they want then grab a spot before they miss out!
they will love it..

~ Taryn Gale

We were all very impressed at the level of creativity expressed by the children & the ownership they took of the event.  This is owing to your guidance and commitment – we are so blessed to have your influence in our young people’s development,
thank you for this.

What an amazing place for a Birthday Party. The staff are so accommodating, friendly and awesome. We had Gilly teach us to do skateboard painting today and all the kids loved it. He knew my daughter liked Sailor Moon, so customed the party to her tastes. I would highly recommend Artlis studios for all kids parties

Highly recommend booking a Birthday Party at Artlis! My 8 yr old daughter recently had her party here, making Dream Catchers. They all loved learning about the history and making of dream catchers. My daughter also received a lovely box of goodies as a Bday gift that was very generous. She couldn’t wait to get home and get creative. Thanks Jane and Artlis! Xx

Our group absolutely loved our class, specially designed to cater for our children’s ‘outside the box’ needs. Alissa is so patient and relaxed…the kids bonded with her beautifully. And each marched out proudly with a masterpiece of their own making. It was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended, will be back!

Art is more than just understanding paint techniques or learning how to draw, it is a way for us to stimulate the Alpha brainwave frequency, the ideal frequency for learning, retaining information and analysing complex situations. Having these Alpha brainwave functions available to us decreases the bodies reactions to stress, fear and tension (most likely because our increased analytical abilities lead to better problem solving) therefore assisting us with creating a stable state of mind, and ultimately allowing our body to concentrate on healing wherever it is needed.

Some studies claim that the effects of the Alpha state can last for days in children and can include

  • Increased problem solving abilities
  • Increased learning state
  • Better memory retention
  • Physical and mental relaxation
  • Increased ability to analyse complex situations
  • Stable state of mind and emotion
  • Immune system improvement
  • Lowers physical effects of tension and stress
  • Lowers hyperactive tendencies
